Croft : Full Report
Croft was the first time the Ducati turned a wheel in the wet so we spent free practice getting some good wet settings. We didn’t end up needing these though because it dried out in time for the Superstock 1000 qualifying session. Ready to do some fast laps I set off for qualifying, perhaps too eager; as I only completed 3 laps before throwing to bike into the gravel at turn one!
Unable to restart the bike and improve my lap time I had to start the race from 24th on the grid. I got a good start in the race but got squeezed off line by some bikes on the inside of me around the first few corners. I started pushing through the pack and made up as many places as I could before the chequered flag came out. The race seemed to go really quickly but I managed to make it up to 15th place to bring home a point for the championship.
It was a tough weekend for the team but the next round is at Thruxton, where I have done well in the past, so hopefully we can push for a strong finish to make up for this weekend at Croft. I’ll get some pictures up soon as possible.
